Selection Massale Pinot Noir 2023, Central Otago

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 15-May-2024
Medium ruby-red with a purple hue, slightly lighter on the rim. The nose is forward and packed with aromas of black fruit, thyme, spice, and a hint of funk. Medium-bodied, aromas of black cherry and black raspberry interweave with thyme, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hint of earth. The succulent fruit is ripe with balanced, fresh acidity; ripe tannins smoothly coat the palate and linger with spice and earth to a mealy finish. Match with lamb ribs and braised duck over the next 3+ years. Handpicked, 75% whole bunch and wild fermented in tank for four weeks, then pressed into seasoned French oak barriques for 12 months. Underwent MLF, unfined, unfiltered. 13% alc. Organic certifed. 18.5/20 pts (93pts) May 2024 RRP $30
