Seifried Nelson Riesling 2011

Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 09-Feb-2013
65% Brightwater and 35% Redwood Valley fruit, vines planted 2002 and 1998 respectively, stainless-steel fermented to 12.9% alc. and 9.4 g/L rs. Pale straw-yellow colour with green hues, the nose is exuberant and up-front with bold aromatics, the fruit in the lime and lemon spectrum, and instantly approachable. Off-dry to taste, this is robust and full with concentrated citrus fruit flavours. The citrus fruitiness is clear and straightforward, with a rich juiciness enhanced by lively, balanced acidity. There is a firmness to the palate line, with dome phenolic texture and drive which carries though to a long finish. This should develop more complexity of flavour over the next 4-5+ years. 18.0-/20 Feb 2013
