Seifried Nelson Gewurztraminer 2015

Gewurztraminer from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 30-Jan-2017
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with pale golden hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is voluminous with gentle and harmoniously concentrated aromas of rose-petal florals and Turkish Delight, along with notes of root ginger and savoury spice elements. Medium in sweetness and medium-bodied, the palate possesses stylishly rich and luscious fruit flavours of res-petal and exotic florals, Turkish Delight and musk, with some root ginger at the core. The mouthfeel is soft and rounded with integrated acidity enhancing the fruit richness. The flavours carry to a soft, full finish with rich floral and musk notes and spicy nuances. This is a stylishly rich, medium Gewurztraminer with floral, Turkish Delight and musk flavours, notes of root ginger and a soft, integrated palate. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the ‘Redwood Valley’ vineyard, given skin contact and cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 20.3 g/L RS. 17.5/20 Feb 2017 RRP $17.00
