Seifried Nelson Chardonnay 2015

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 30-Jan-2017
Bright, light golden-hued yellow colour, lighter on the edge. The nose is gently full and evenly presented with accessible aromas of yellow stonefruits melded with lemon-curd MLF, unfolding creamy barrel-ferment and nutty oak elements, building to form an elegant core. Medium-full bodied, the palate has a softly rounded heart of yellow stonefruit flavours integrated with layers of lemon-curd MLF and hints of butterscotch along with sweet, nutty oak elements. The palate shows arounded and accessible body with light textures and integrated acidity, lending freshness and energy. The wine flows positively to a dry, lingering finish of stonefruits and MLF. This is an accessible Chardonnay with a soft core of stonefruits, lemon-curd and nutty oak. Match with poultry and pork over the next3-4 years. Mendoza clone fruit from the ‘Rabbit Island’ vineyard barrel-fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 1 y.o. French oak barriques undergoing batonnage and MLF. 17.0+/20 Feb 2017 RRP $17.00
