Bright, full, straw-yellow colour with light golden hues. The nose is solid and full with aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits unfolding layers of nuts, savoury cream and toast. This is warm and generous with real harmony. Medium-full bodied, bold flavours of ripe citrus and yellow stonefruits fill the mouth with richness and lusciousness. Butter, nuts and creamy barrel-ferment flavours intermingle with subtle butterscotch MLF notes. The mouthfeel is near unctuous, but well-balanced with a thread of acid cut providing an underlying raciness. The flavours flow smoothly to a very long finish with nutty, spicy oak. This is a rich and lush, creamy-textured Chardonnay with ripe flavours and good acid freshness. Match with roast poultry and pork over the next 4+ years. Fruit from Sonoma County hand-picked and WBP, fermented with 50% in barrel undergoing MLF, to 13.9% alc., and 77% of the wine aged 7 months in new and seasoned oak. 18.5/20 Sep 2013 RRP $20.99
