Sebastiani Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Cabernet Sauvignon from USA
Review Date : 04-Sep-2014
Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red with youthful purple on rim. The nose is full with well-packed aromas of ripe blackberry and blackcurrant fruit aromas harmoniously entwined with plum, liquorice and waves of cedary oak. Subtle herb and earthy elements add interest and detail. Medium-full bodied, mouthfilling flavours of sweetly ripe black berry fruits, spicy dark plums and liquorice are melded with sweet and cedary oak. The fruit and oak flavours are supported by fine-grained extraction and structure, the mouthfeel quite supple and accessible. A dense core and the tannins carry the wine to a very long, lingering finish with spicy, cedary oak flavours prevailing. This is a rich, lush and accessible Cabernet Sauvignon with plenty of spicy plum favours and layers of oak. Serve with casseroles and slow-cooked game meat over the next 5-6+ years. 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot and 3% Barbera fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 17 months in French and American oak. 17.5+/20 Sep 2014 RRP $20.99
