Sea Level Home Block Pinot Gris 2022, Nelson

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 22-Feb-2023
Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is gentle and a bit coy, with penetrating aromas of crunchy pear, apple, honey, pear blossom and subtle spice. Medium-light bodied, dry to taste, aromas of Nashi pear, apple entwined with pear blossom, ginger dusting and notes of honey. The fruit is fresh and crisp with a good balance of acidity. The mouthfeel is lightly oily and has a silky phenolic texture. This dry Pinot Gris shows a crisp palate featuring orchard fruit, blossom and a fine texture. Match with lemongrass steamed fish and pork dumplings over the next 3 years. Handpicked, whole bunch pressed, fermented with selected yeast strains to 13.5% alc, 2.5 g/l RS. Aged on lees for 2 months. 18+/20 ts (91 pts) Feb 2023 RRP $21.95
