Sea Level ‘Home Block’ Nelson Rosé 2014

Rose from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 18-Aug-2015
100% Pinot Noir, hand-picked, given 3-4 hours skin contact and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.0 g/L RS. Bright, pale pink colour with a suggestion of peach at the heart, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly presented and gently full with aromas of fresh strawberries, pomegranate and watermelon, lifted by delicate confectionary notes. The aromatics grow in depth, showing some thirst-quenching minerally detail at the core. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, delicate strawberry, watermelon and pomegrate fruit flavours show with subtle nuances of fresh herbs alongside lifted confectionary elements. This is vibrant and lively with a crisp, refreshing mouthfeel, the racy acidity lifting the fruit aromatics and providing good energy and drive for the fine-textured, dry phenolic line. The wine carries through to a dry, aromatically nuanced finish. This is a crisp, dry and elegantly refreshing rosé with delicate strawberry and confectionary flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with antipasto over the next 2 years. 17.5/20 Aug 2015 RRP $17.95
