Sea Level ‘Home Block’ Nelson Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 21-Mar-2016
Even, dark ruby-red colour with lighter purple hues on the rim, youthful in appearance. The nose is gently full with aromas of dark red cherry and raspberry fruit entwined with soft herbal nuances, unfolding harmoniously layered dark red florals and savoury raspberry liqueur elements. Medium-bodied, bright and juicy flavours of dark red cherries and raspberries are interwoven with subtle dark herbal elements, unfolding nutty and raspberry liqueur notes. The fruit is supported by moderate extraction providing a light, grainy structure, with fresh acidity enlivening the mouthfeel. A fine textured line carries the palate to a light, sustained finish of cherries and raspberries. This is a bright, juicy and lively Pinot Noir with cherry and raspberry fruit and light, grainy structure. Match with tapas, antipasto and pork dishes over the next 4+ years. Fruit from the gravel-threaded Moutere clay soils of the ‘Home Block’, fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in French oak. 17.5/20 Mar 2016 RRP $24.95
