Sea Level ‘Home Block’ Nelson Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 04-Feb-2016
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with a suggestion of blush, near colourless on the rim. The nose is softly full with fresh, pure and fragrant aromas of pear fruit lifted by exotic florals, unfolding nuances of spice. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, subtly rich and luscious flavours of white and yellow stonefruits and pears are lifted by exotic floral and spice elements. The palate is elegantly concentrated and the wine flows along a fine, phenolic-textured line, enlivened by balancing, lacy acidity. The palate is carried by the textures to a moderately sustained, finely concentrated and dry finish of stonefruits and florals. This is a subtly rich Pinot Gris with pear and exotic floral flavours, and a fine, dry-textured palate and line. Serve with most white meat dishes and Asian fare over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from the ‘Home Block’, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 4.9 g/L RS. 18.0-/20 Feb 2016 RRP $18.95
