Sea Level ‘Home Block’ Nelson Chenin Blanc 2012

Chenin Blanc from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 18-Aug-2015
Brilliant, pale strawyellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on the rim. The bouquet is fresh and steely, and elegantly presented with penetrating and pure aromas of white florals entwined with nuances of fresh herbs, long with waxy white stonefruit elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, full and open fruit, lusciously juicy flavours of white florals intermingle with exotic tropical fruit notes. Lively acidity lifts the fruit aromatics, refreshing the palate. The wine has good presence and a positive core, with fine-textured phenolics providing a dry threaded line and delicate grip. The acidity carries the wine to a bright, juicy, long and sustained finish of white florals. This is a rich, juicy, but refreshingly crisp and textural Chenin Blanc with a waxy bouquet and tropical fruit flavours. Serve with seafood dishes over the next 4+ years. Hand-picked fruit, WBP and cool-fermented in stainless-steel with a small portion in seasoned French oak to 13.0% alc. and 4.0 g/L RS. 18.0-/20 Aug 2015 RRP $23.95
