Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 25-Aug-2025
Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is focused, with aromas of lime, lime leaf, blossom and mineral hints. Medium-bodied, aromas of lime, lime peels and lime leaf, with a suggestion of mango, melded with green apple skin, bread dough and saline. The zingy acidity rings through the palate, unfolding saline and creamy, doughy details, and advances a salivating finish. This bone-dry Riesling has excellent concentration and tension. Match with fresh clams and crab over the next 5 years. Handpicked from Nelson's highest vineyard, 20+ year old dry-farmed vines on Moutere clay soils. Fermented at low temperature, aged on gross lees, stabilised and lightly filtered. 11% alc. 400 bottles produced. 18-/20 pts (89 pts) Aug 2025 RRP $20
