Schlumberger ‘Les Princes Abbes’ Alsace Riesling 2010

Riesling from France - Alsace
Review Date : 11-Nov-2012
Bright, light golden-hued straw colour, this has a fresh and tightly bound nose of white stonefruits, limes, minerals and florals. The fruit depth is solid, but shows a steeliness as well. Dry to taste, an amalgam of lime fruit, fresh herbs and minerals are enlivened by fine, crisply cutting acidity, and the palate has an elegant, smooth flowing mouthfeel. Delicate floral details emerge leading to hints of sherbetty exoticism. The flavours are up-front, and the wine finishes softly with moderate length. This dry Riesling will remain an elegant style for drinking over the next 4+ years. Fruit from ‘Bollenberg' and the grand cru sites of ‘Saering' and ‘Kessler', as well as young vines from ‘Kitterlé' fermented to approx. 12.5% alc. and dryness. 17.0+/20 Nov 2012 RRP $32.50
