Schlumberger ‘Les Princes Abbes’ Alsace Pinot Blanc 2007

Pinot Blanc from France - Alsace
Review Date : 04-Sep-2011
A blend of 30% Pinot Blanc and 70% Auxerrois, from the ‘Saering', ‘Spiegel', ‘Bux' and ‘Bollenberg' sites, fermented to 11.9% alc. and 1.6 g/L rs. Pale straw-yellow colour, this has a shy nose of stonefruits, quite pure and clean, with real freshness and delicacy. Dry on palate, this is subtle in expression with light white stonefruit flavours along with nutty nuances. The mouthfeel is soft from moderate acidity, the wine up-front, simple and accessible. Without any coarseness or earthiness, cleanliness and freshness are its virtues.  Drink now and over the next 2-3 years.  Aug 2011
