Satellite Marlborough Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 30-Jan-2016
Moderately dark ruby-red colour with purple hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh and up-front with bright, ripe raspberry fruit aromas along with lifted whole berry confectionary and plum jam notes, revealing nuances of raspberry liqueur and toasty, charry oak. Medium-bodied, this has a soft, plush and juicy palate with moderately deep flavours of raspberries, confectionary and plum jam, unfolding toasty oak elements. The mouthfeel is soft and rounded, with modest tannin extraction, and integrated acidity providing some energy. The wine flows easily, leading to a light, dry finish. This is an up-front, juicy Pinot Noir with raspberry and plum jam flavours and a soft, accessible mouthfeel. Serve with risotto, pasta, pizza and poultry over the next 2-3 years. Pinot Noir fruit from Johnson Estate, hand-picked and indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged in oak barrels. 16.0+/20 Feb 2016 RRP $22.00
