Satellite Marlborough Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Sep-2014
Even ruby-red colour with some depth. The nose is full in volume with moderately deep aromas of savoury strawberries and red berry fruits entwined with dried herb, stalk and complex undergrowth notes. Spice, red liquorice and raspberry liqueur elements emerge with aeration. Medium-bodied, restrained flavours of raspberries, stalks and herbs intermingle with earth and undergrowth detail. The mouthfeel has acid vitality and follows a grainy-textured line, balancing the fruit sweetness. The palate carries flavours of herb-infused strawberries and sour cherries to a dry finish. This is a lively and grainy-textured Pinot Noir with restrained, savoury, herb-nuanced red fruit flavours. Match with pasta, poultry and pork dishes over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from the ‘Johnson Estate Lodge’ and ‘C’ blocks, hand-picked and indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged in oak. 16.5/20 Sep 2014 RRP $25.00
