Satellite Marlborough Gewurztraminer 2013

Gewurztraminer from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Oct-2013
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with slight lemon hues, lighter on edge. The bouquet is fresh and softly voluminous with aromas of rose-petals, honey, musk and delicate spices very evenly and harmoniously presented. Medium-dry to medium in taste, light and gently mouthfilling flavours of exotic florals, honey and a little musk flow on the palate. The mouthfeel is soft, but with good depth and an oily, near unctuous texture, balanced by good underlying acidity. The flavours are moderately rich and carry through with the residual sugar to a soft, lingering honied finish. This is a soft, mellow-textured, medium Gewurztraminer with gentle, exotic musk and honey flavours. Serve with Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine over the next 3 years. Fruit from the ‘Johnson Estate’ and contracted growers, cool-fermented with a portion in seasoned oak to 13.5% alc. and 14 g/L RS. 17.0/20 Oct 2013 RRP $17.00
