Sassoregale Maremma Toscana IGT Sangiovese 2011

Sangiovese from Italy - Tuscany
Review Date : 16-Feb-2015
Dark, deep, ruby-red colour with some garnet hues on rim. The bouquet is fresh with good depth of savoury dark red cherry and berry fruits along with nuances of dark herbs, game and earth, lifted by red floral elements. Medium-full bodied, fresh, lively and sweet flavours of savoury red cherries show with good succulence. The fruit is enhanced by fresh acidity lending a lively and bright mouthfeel. Savoury dried herb and earthy detail adds to the interest, and a fine, grainy tannin core and line leads to a moderately sustained, dry-textured finish withred cherry fruit. This is a juicy and lively Sangiovese with savoury red cherry fruit and a firm tannin line. Match with pasta, barbecued and roasted red meat dishes over the next 4+ years. Sangiovese from Maremma fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged in small oak. 17.0+/20 Feb 2015 RRP $19.99
