Sandalford Margaret River Shiraz 2016

Syrah from Australia - Western Australia
Review Date : 18-Jul-2017
Very dark, impenetrable, purple-hued black-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. This has a full and voluminous, deeply packed nose of sweetly ripe blackberry fruit with raspberries, boysenberries and black plum jam notes, unfolding some eucalypt and cedary notes. Full-bodied, the palate is rich, sweet and juicy with flavours of blackberries, dark raspberries, plum jam an nuances of liquorice and blue fruits. The fruit forms an opulent core and is supported by accessible, supple tannin structure with integrated acidity. As the wine flows, some eucalypt and cedar emerges, nd carries with the wine to sweet and juicy finish. This is a sweetly ripe Shiraz with blackberry, raspberry, boysenberry and plum jam flavours on a supple and accessible palate. Match with barbecued and roasted red meats over the next 5-6+ years. Margaret River fruit fermented to 14.8% alc., the wine aged 3 months in 20% new French oak. 18.0/20 Jul 2017 RRP $22.99
