Sanctuary Marlborough Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 26-Apr-2014
Waihopi fruit. 40% barrel-fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 6 months in tank and oak with batonnage, and 100% MLF. Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with light lemon hues, pale on rim. The nose is elegantly fresh with clean aromas of white stonefruits and citrus fruit, revealing suggestions of creamy MLF and flinty nuances. Dry to taste and medium bodied, light citrus fruit flavours are melded with delicate creamy, buttery notes from barrel work and MLF, along with subtle oak nuttiness. The flavours are up-front and flow on a soft-textured palate with some creaminess, the core providing good line to a moderately long, lightly nuanced finish. This is a fresh, gently creamy, citrussy Chardonnay to serve with antipasto, seafood and poultry over the next 2-3 years. 16.5+/20 Apr 2014 RRP $18.00
