San Felice Chianti Classico DOCG 2020, Italy

Sangiovese from Italy - Tuscany
Review Date : 24-May-2023
Moderately deep ruby-red, lighter on edge. The nose is gently full, with fresh aromas of sour cherry, blueberry, plum, blue flower and cedar. Full-bodied, sour cherry, plum and blueberry aromas melded with blue flower, cedar and dark cocoa. The mouthfeel is rich and packed with tight-grained tannins; lively acidity carries vibrant fruit to a sustained finish. This Chianti Classico is true to style with a fresh line of acidity and fruit. Match with bolognese and pork scotch steak over the next 5-7 years. Mainly Sangiovese, 8–10 days fermentation on the skins, followed by MLF in steel, aged in large Slavonian oak casks for 10–12 months, followed by 2 months in bottle. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) May 2023 RRP $34.94
