Clone 15 fruit from12 y.o. vines from the ‘Home' block on Ngatarawa Road, barrel-fermented with 10% in tank to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 12% new and 30% 1 y.o. French oak. Brilliant, light golden-hued yellow colour with depth. The nose is full with rich, ripe yellow stonefruit and citrus aromas along with savoury tropical fruits and nutty oak in the background. Full, broad and mouthfilling with rich and lush flavours of citrus and tropical fruits, with nutty, toasty oak in the background, discreet acidity provides balance, leading to a very long finish with savoury, nutty, oxidative nuances. This is a broad and fleshy crowd-pleasing Chardonnay with a nutty, twist. Match with hearty poultry and pork dishes over the next 3-4 years. 18.0-/20 Feb 2012 RRP $26.90
