Salvare Estate Hawke’s Bay Viognier 2009

Viognier from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 16-Mar-2011
Made from fruit from the Dartmoor Valley, 70% fermented in seasoned oak to 13.5% alc. and given 3 months lees contact. This has a bright, deepish, light golden colour and a soft, broad bouquet with ripe apricot, citrus and ginger and nutty aromas along with a subtle perfumed blossom lift. Dry on palate, this has a dense and weighty palate with ripe, succulent fresh apricot and deep dried fruit flavours. Some oak nuttiness adds interest. The low acidity and generous nature of the wine makes this one to enjoy now and over the next 2 years with Middle Eastern cuisine. 17.0/20 Mar 2011 RRP $25.00
