Salvare Estate Hawke’s Bay Syrah 2008

Syrah from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 16-Mar-2011
Made from fruit from the Gimblett Gravels and Triangle sub-regions, fermented to 13.0% alc. and aged 12 months in oak, 20% new. Deep and even purple hued ruby-red colour, this has subdued aromatics on the nose, with black pepper, spices, black ink and mint elements showing. Medium-weighted, this has lifted white and black pepper flavours with spices, tobacco, dried herb and earthy, mushroom notes. The oak is in good balance. The palate has an acid firmness which carries to the finish. Drink with Mediterranean and Asian cuisine over the next 3-4 years. 16.0/20 Mar 2011 RRP $25.00
