Salvare Estate Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2009

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 16-Mar-2011
Deep, light golden hued straw-yellow in colour, this has a full, intense bouquet of mealy, white stonefruits and steely minerals, along with complex nutty, oxidative elements. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied at 13.5% alc., this has a well-proportioned palate with a gentle harmony exuding accessibility. The flavours of ripe white stonefruits are backed by a thread of nutty oxidative notes, the finish of moderate length. Drink with seafood and poultry over the next 3-4+ years. Made from fruit from the ‘Home' block on Ngatarawa Road, this is a blend of tank ferment and barrel fermented wine aged in oak 10 months, 20% new. 16.5/20 Mar 2011 RRP $25.00
