Salomon Undhof ‘Wieden & Berg’ ‘Tradition’ Gruner Veltliner 2011

Gruner Veltliner from Austria
Review Date : 08-Sep-2013
Pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. This has a fresh, firm nose with concentrated and pure aromas of subtle waxy herbs and white pepper showing growing intensity. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, subtle flavours of herbs and wax with white pepper form a palate with a good core and body. The fruit is carried by phenolic textures and fresh acidity, and the mouthfeel is solid and driven. The flavours flow positively and lighten on the finish. Delicate nuances of herbs linger with softness and acid nuance. This is a firm, well-bodied, classic and dry Gruner Veltliver that is carried by textures. Serve with most white meat dishes over the next 3-4+ years. From the ‘Wieden’ vineyard, Kremstal, fermented to 12.5% alc. 17.5+/20 Sep 2013 RRP $33.99
