Salomon Undhof ‘Wieden & Berg’ Gruner Veltliner 2013

Gruner Veltliner from Austria
Review Date : 08-Jul-2014
Bright pale straw-yellow colour, light on edge. This has an elegant and aromatic nose with lifted white stonefruit and subtle herbal aromas, along with acacia and floral blossom notes and delicate nuances of white pepper and fennel. Dry to taste and light-bodied, tight and slender flavours of white stonefruits, florals and herbs are entwined with tropical fruits and blossom notes. The palate follows a fine, tight line with a refined phenolic thread, and the mouthfeel is enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity. The wine has good vitality, and carries to a elegant, lingering finish with delicate herb elements. This is a delicate and slender, dry Gruner Veltliner with pure and fine floral flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 3+ years. From the ‘Wieden’ vineyard, Kremstal, fermented to 12.5% alc. 17.5-/20 Jul 2014 RRP $28.99
