Salomon Undhof ‘Hochterrassen’ Gruner Veltliner 2012

Gruner Veltliner from Austria
Review Date : 11-Mar-2014
Bright, very pale ptraw-yellow colour with light green hues. The bouquet is very fresh, tight and elegant with subtle aromas of herbs and green stonefruits, florals and a suggestion of white pepper, along with chalky, minerally elements. Dry to taste and light-bodied, this has a good linear core and phenolic backbone, the palate showing good depth and presence. There is positive fruit extract which carries the soft, light herbal flavours. The acidity is restrained and a rounded finish features with some weight and length. This is a light, dry Gruner Veltliner which has good phenolic presence. Match with seafood and white meat courses over the next 3 years. Fruit from high altitude terraces in Stein and Krems, fermented to 12.0% alc. 16.5+/20 Mar 2014 RRP $27.99
