Salomon & Andrew Central Otago Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 07-Jul-2014
Full, deep, black-red colour with youthful purple hues. This has a firm and densely-packed, elegantly proportioned bouquet of ripe black cherry and dark red berry fruits, along with hints of plum, and iron-earth, black mineral notes, revealing some spice and tar nuance. Medium-full bodied, ripe, sweet flavours of black fruits, dark herbs and minerals show with sweetness and richness. The palate is well-concentrated with a firm core, providing good linearity, and the fruit is balanced by supple, positive tannins that add to the depth and vinous drive. The flavours are carried to a long, concentrated and sustained finish. This is a ripe, black-fruited Pinot Noir with a concentrated core and balanced structure. Match with lamb, beef and venison over the next 6+ years. Hand-picked fruit from Bannockburn, given a cold soak, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months in French oak. 18.0/20 Jul 2014 RRP €25.00
