Fruit harvested from three sites in the Lower Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 4 g/L rs. Bright pale straw-yellow colour with faint green hues, pale on rim. This has a very full, dense and deeply concentrated nose packed with aromas of blackcurrant leaf, passionfruit and minerals intermixed forming a core promising much to unfold. Dry to taste, the palate is full and weighty with concentrated flavours of blackcurrant and passionfruit. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, with slippery acidity sitting alongside a fine, drying textural line. The acid liveliness is restrained, and allows the fulsome fruit depth and palate presence to feature and flow to a mouthwatering, long finish. This is a full, weighty and concentrated Sauvignon Blanc to match with rich seafoods, salads and vegetables over the next 2-3 years. 18.5+/20 Dec 2012 RRP $32.00
