Saint Clair ‘Wairau Reserve’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Mar-2011
Very pale straw-yellow with green hues to the colour, this has an extremely fine, full and even bouquet that is packed with soft pungent, passionfruit aromas. The nose possesses subtle layers that open in the glass to reveal tropical fruits, limes and blackcurrants. Dry to taste, the richness and depth of pungent passionfruit flavours has a degree of restraint, the acidity softly ripe and the textures very fine and smooth. The wine very accessible, yet amazes with its mouthfilling nature. Incredibly lush and rich, with real harmony and stylishness. The finish is long and sustained. How the restraint and style is juxtaposed with its opulence is a marvel. Drink with all seafood, and salads and match with most Pacific Rim cuisine over the next 2-3+ years. Fruit from the ‘O'Dwyers Road' vineyard in Rapaura, cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 2.6 g/L rs. 19.0/20 Mar 2011 RRP $32.00
