Saint Clair ‘Vicar’s Choice’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 02-Oct-2013
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The nose is tightly concentrated with pure, pungent passionfruit aromas at the heart, along with gooseberry, mineral and steely elements providing a freshness and zestiness. Dry to taste, tight and refreshingly crisp flavours of passionfruit, limes, fresh herbs and gooseberries are enlivened by bright and zingy acidity. The palate is underlined by fine phenolic textures which are moderated by the fruit sweetness, and the flavours flow to a thirst-quenching, dry and lingering finish. This is a youthfully tight, dry and zesty Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit and gooseberry flavours. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from a variety of sub-regions including Rapaura, lower Wairau and the Brancott Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3 g/L RS. 17.5-/20 Oct 2013 RRP $19.50
