Saint Clair ‘Vicar’s Choice’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Oct-2012
Bright, full, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The bouquet is tight and elegant with straightforward, but restrained aromas of passionfruit and gooseberries along with a minerally note. Dry to taste, bright and juicy flavours of tropical fruits, pungent passionfruit and limes are softly presented, but all enlivened by fresh, crisp and drying acidity that balances the lusciousness. The mouthfeel is complete and up-front and the flavours carry through to a long, soft-textured, gently fruity finish. This is a classical Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with textbook passionfruit and gooseberry flavours and a lush, but crisp mouthfeel. Serve with seafood, poultry and vegetables over the next 2 years. Sauvignon Blanc fruit sourced from different sub-regions including Rapaura, Lower Wairau and Brancott, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.4 g/L rs. 17.5/20 Oct 2012 RRP $19.50
