Saint Clair ‘Vicar’s Choice’ ‘Bright Light’ Marlborough Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 05-Aug-2014
Fruit from a site in the Blind River district of the Awatere Valley, cool-fermented to 9.0% alc. and 26.3 g/L RS. Bright, very pale straw colour, near colourless. The nose is light and soft with restrained aromas of lime fruit at the core, the aromatics a little muted, but vinosity shows. Medium in sweetness and light-bodied, up-front lime and mouthwatering citrus fruit flavours show with racy acidity. Some sherbet-like notes and florals lift the fruit. This has excellent poise and balance between the sweet fruit, residual sugar and zesty acidity, the palate leading to a refreshing and light finish with lime fruit and esters aromatics. A little light on nose, this is an up-front, sweet and lively, refreshing medium Riesling with racy acidity. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood and Asian fare over the next 2+ years. 16.0+/20 Aug 2014 RRP $19.50
