Saint Clair Premium Pinot Noir 2019, Marlborough

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 31-Aug-2020
Deep, bright ruby-red with a purple hue, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full, aromas of deep florals, black cherries, melded with sweet plums, subtle herbs and notes of game. Medium-bodied, flavours of Bing cherries, sweet raspberries entwined with game and nutty oak barrel element. The fruit is ripe and aromatic, interweaved with the nutty oak element, added a rich flavour layer with a rustic charm. Chewy, fine tannin provides some grip on a smooth phenolic line, flows with balanced, lively acidity to a lingering finish. This is a straight forward Pinot Noir with flavours of cherries and rustic charm on a silky tannin palate. Match with roasted lamb leg over the next 2-3 years. 13.5% alc. 17/20 pts Aug 2020 RRP $20
