Saint Clair ‘Premium’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Oct-2012
Fruit from different sub-regions including the Lower Wairau Valley and Rapaura, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.6 g/L rs. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with some green hues, pale on rim. This has a full, soft, densely packed nose of rich blackcurrant and pungent passionfruit aromas. Dry to taste, passionfruit, blackcurrant and gooseberry flavours intermingle and flow smoothly, filling the palate. This has concentration with a luscious richness forming a deep core. Slippery, racy acidity underlines the mouthfeel and enlivens the fruitiness, and provides excellent tension through the palate line leading to a long, softly rich finish. This is a Sauvignon Blanc with the Saint Clair house-style of rich, smooth and luscious passionfruit flavours balanced by zesty acidity. Match with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine over the next 2+ years. 18.0+/20 Oct 2012 RRP $21.50
