Saint Clair ‘Premium’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Apr-2015
Bright, very pale straw colour, pale on rim. The nose is light and tightly bound with aromas of white stonefruits and minerals, the fruit expressed with clarity and purity in the thirst-quenching Pinot Grigio style. Subtle floral elements emerge in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, tightly held flavours of white stonefruits and florals are the feature on palate. This is crisp, racy and mouth-wateringly dry with plenty of acid bite. A fine-textured phenolic line carries the wine with good energy, leading to a bracing, slender finish with wet-stone mineral notes. This is a crisp, minerally and thirst-quenching wine in the Pinot Grigio style. Serve as an aperitif, and with seafood and antipasto over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Wairau and Awatere Valleys, stainless-steel cool-fermented with a small portion in seasoned oak to 13.0% alc. and 4.3 g/L RS. 16.5/20 Apr 2015 RRP $21.50
