Saint Clair ‘Premium’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2011

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Feb-2012
Bright, very pale straw colour, near colourless on edge. The nose is very elegant and freshly presented with lively white stonefruit, flint and attractive mineral aromas, showing great purity. Dry to taste and medium-weighted, the feature on palate is crisp, clear and racy acidity, mouthwatering but with delicacy. The tight, linear, mineral-infused stonefruit flavours emerge and are backed by very fine textures, and the wine finishes long, dry and steely. Fruit from the Wairau and Awatere Valleys, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 6.5 g/L rs. This is a very pure and steely Pinot Grigio style to match with antipasto and seafood over the next 2-3+ years. 17.5-/20 Feb 2012 RRP $21.50
