Dark, deep, purple-red colour, youthful in appearance. The nose is light with fresh, vibrant blackcurrant and blackberry aromas, a little matty and soft in presentation. Medium-bodied, this has attractively, uncomplicated, fresh blackcurrant fruit flavours backed by fine, grainy tannins and fresh acidity, resulting in a firm, dry mouthfeel. The fruit is upfront, and carries through to a light finish. This is a simply presented, fruit Bordeaux variety blend with a firm and dry palate, Match with barbecued foods and Mediterranean cuisine over the next 3+ years. A blend of two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon and one-third Merlot from a single vineyard in the Gimblett Gravels fermented to 12.5% alc., a quarter of the Merlot aged in seasoned oak.
