Saint Clair ‘Pioneer Block 25 – Point Five’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Dec-2015
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with light green hues. The nose is very fresh and elegantly presented with fine and intense, vibrantly aromatic fruit notes of passionfruit, cut grass, nettles and nuances of tropical fruits seamlessly interwoven and growing in mouthwatering mineral notes. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is beautifully poised with vibrant, aromatic fruit flavours of white florals, gooseberries, melons and passionfruit, alongside nuances of nettles and cut grass. The flavours are harmonious and integrated, showing succulence and liveliness, and follow a soft, fine-featured line and core. Lacy acidity carries the finely concentrated flavours to a very long, detailed finish. This is an elegantly vibrant Sauvignon Blanc with harmoniously interwoven detail, freshness and poise. Serve with Asian cuisine, seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Bennet’ family’s lower Wairau vineyard at 0.5 m a.s.l., cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 2.9 g/L RS. 18.5/20 Dec 2015 RRP $26.90
