Saint Clair Origin Pinot Noir 2019, Marlborough

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Apr-2021
Moderately deep ruby with a purple hue, lighter on the rim. The nose is gently full and herbaceous, aromas of thyme, red cherries and blackberries adorn by a dusting of delicate spices. Medium-full bodied, the palate is filled with aromas of blackberries, red cherries and spices. Lively acidity flows effortlessly, echoing the succulent fruit; fine-grained tannin coated the palate with a light grip, added texture. Match with beetroot salad and grilled lamb rump over the next 3 years. Fruit source from multiple vineyards in the Southern Valleys, cold-soaked for 5 days, fermented to 13.5% alc, aged in stainless steel tanks or a mixture of new and older seasoned French oak. Fined and lightly filtered. 17/20 (85 pts) Apr 2021 RRP $24.90
