Saint Clair Marlborough Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-Mar-2011
This is the darkest and most deeply-flavoured wine under the ‘premium' Saint Clair label to date. Bright dark ruby-red colour with purple hues, this has a dense, concentrated nose of ripe black berry and plum fruits, with notes of plum jam. On palate, rich, dense flavours of black cherries, berries, plums and raspberry liqueur fill the mouth with plumpness and lusciousness. The solidness of the wine is the feature, yet the extraction is gentle and supple, resulting in a soft, rounded texture. Fresh acidity gives cut and carries through to the finish. Up-front, and no doubt with mass-appeal, this will match pizza, pasta and Middle EasterN cuisine over the next 3-4+ years. 17.5+/20 Mar 2011 RRP $25.50
