Saint Clair Marlborough Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 26-Mar-2013
Pinot Gris fruit from the Wairau and Awatere valleys, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 5.0 g/L rs. Pale straw-yellow colour with pale green hues on rim. The bouquet is fresh, voluminous and vibrantly fruity with aromas of exotic yellow stonefruits nuanced by notes of honeysuckle and spices. Dryish to taste and light-bodied, fresh, clean and crisp flavours of yellow stonefruits, honey and pears are presented without complication. The mouthfeel is crisp and near-racy, with the acidity providing good drive and linearity. Some light, drying textures carry the palate to a clean, crisp finish with moderate length. This is a clean and crisp, dry Pinot Gris with a fruity bouquet and a refreshing mouthfeel. Serve with antipasto and Asian fare over the next 3 years. 16.5+/20 Mar 2013 RRP $21.50
