Wairau Valley fruit approx. 50% barrel-fermented to 14.0% alc., with this portion undergoing MLF. 8 months maturation in French and American oak. Bright straw-yellow colour with some pale lemon hues. This is elegant and well-proportioned on the nose, with ripe citrus and melon fruit aromas along with buttery, creamy elements from the barrel-ferment and MLF amalgam. Dry to taste, this has sweetly ripe, up-front tropical fruit with buttery, nutty flavours on a mouthfilling, medium-weighted palate. The core of fruit is enveloped by the creamy textures and enlivened by sleek, crisp acidity. The wine finishes with a good, dry, nutty, buttered toast finish. Drink with grilled seafood, chicken and roasted pork dishes over the next 3-4+ years. 17.5+/20 Aug 2011 RRP $21.50
