Saint Clair ‘Godfrey’s Creek Reserve’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2010

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Feb-2011
Brilliant pale straw-yellow with light green hues to the colour, this has a very refreshing, crisp, zingy bouquet of ripe white peaches, nectarines and minerals, along with perfumed exotic spice nuances. A full, broad and soft palate with 14.0% alc., this is off-dry in taste from the fruit richness rather than the 4.5 g/L rs. Lovely nectarine and greengage flavours are presented with racy acid lift and liveliness, which is combined with some fine phenolic texture, firming up the mid palate and finish. Soft, subtle pear and stoneftuit flavours are sustained on the end palate. Made from fruit mainly from the ‘Godfrey's Creek' vineyard in the Brancott Valley, with some Fairhall grapes. Serve as an aperitif or with antipasto and most Asian cuisine over the next 3-4+ years. 17.0+/20 Feb 2011 RRP $25.50
