Sacred Hill ‘Reserve’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Apr-2015
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is softly full with up-front and harmonious aromas of passionfruit and fresh herbs that reveal cooler spectrum grass and nettle elements. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate is tight and bracing with steely acidity underlining flavours of gooseberries, nettles, herbs and grass. Some passionfruit detail emerges in the glass. The mouthfeel is thirst-quenchingly dry and the wine follows a fine-textured line, the phenolics combining with the acidity leading to a very dry, chalky finish. This is a mouth-wateringly dry and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc with grass and passionfruit flavours. Serve with seafood and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Marlborough fruit cool-fermented in tank to 12.5% alc. and 3.02 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Apr 2015 RRP $24.99
