Sacred Hill ‘Reserve’ Hawke’s Bay Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Blended Red from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 07-Dec-2015
Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. This has a finely concentrated nose of ripe blackberry fruit and black plums entwined with leafy blackcurrant fruit aromas and lifted, aromatic oak. The nose has good depth and intensity. Medium-full bodied, the palate is well-concentrated with a firm core of vibrant blackberry and black plum fruit. Cooler spectrum blackcurrant leaf and mint herb layers, and sweet oak add interest. The palate is vibrant with energy and vitality, enhanced by lacy acidity and the wine flows along a fine-grained line, leading to a concentrated black fruit and herb-nuanced finish. This is a bright, vibrant, finely concentrated blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with blackberry and curranty fruit with herb and oak lift. Serve with grilled, roasted and barbecued red meats over the next 3-4+ years. Hawke’s Bay Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon fruit fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged in French oak. 17.5-/20 Dec 2015 RRP $24.99
