Sacred Hill Marlborough Pinot Gris 2016

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Aug-2016
Full, even, light golden-yellow colour, a little lighter on the rim. This has a full and gently voluminous nose with aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits, apricots and pears, with subtle notes of exotic florals, musk and honeysuckle, along with lifted fermentation esters. The aromatics are open and accessible. Medium in sweetness and medium-full bodied, the palate features openly accessible and up-front flavours of sweet yellow stonefruits and honey with apricot, musk and floral elements. The palate is soft in texture with light phenolics and gentle acidity, but underlined by some alcohol warmth and drive. The flavours carry through with good energy to an easy finish of stonefruits and honeysuckle. This is an up-front, accessible and aromatic, medium Pinot Gris with exotic fruit notes. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 2-3 years. The ‘Orange Label’. Marlborough fruit from the Southern Valleys fermented in a variety of small vessels to 14.5% alc. and 12.5 g/L RS. 17.0+/20 Aug 2016 RRP $19.99
