Sacred Hill Marlborough Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Apr-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with pale green-golden hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh with softly voluminous aromas of lifted white and yellow florals and pear fruit, along with fermentation esters, and yellow stonefruits and honeysuckle at the core. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a firm heart of vibrant and aromatic exotic floral and stonefruit flavours intermingling with spice and rose-petal notes, and musky nuances. The flavours are mouthfilling with a fine, underlying textured line and driving alcoholic power. The acidity is integrated, and provides the energy to lead the palate to a fine-grained, spicy, lingering finish. This is a bright, exotic, aromatic off-dry Pinot Gris with a firm core. Match with Asian and Middle Easter fare over the next 3 years. The ‘Orange Label’ wine. Fruit from the Southern Valleys, cool-fermented to 14.0% alc. and 5 g/L RS. 17.5-/20 Apr 2016 RRP $19.99
