Sacred Hill Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2015

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 07-Dec-2015
Brilliant, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour, lighter on the rim. The nose is firmly concentrated with a core of ripe citrus and yellow stonefruits, along with steely and refreshing, fragrant white florals, unfolding a complex amalgam of nutty lees, creamy barrel work and lemon-curd MLF. Medium-bodied and elegant in proportion, the palate possesses a deep heart of citrus and tropical fruit melded with creamy and nutty oak, and lemon-curd MLF. The mouthfeel is harmonious and flows along a positive line, unfolding toasty oak elements through the mid-palate. Lively acidity provides tension and energy and the wine carries to a slippery finish with citrus, nutty, and lemon curd notes. This is a flavoursome Chardonnay with a core of citrus fruit melded with creamy, nutty and toasty flavours. Match with roasted seafood and white meat dishes over the next 2-3 years. Hawke’s Bay fruit fermented with French oak to 13.5% alc., the wine undergoing batonnage. 17.0+/20 Dec 2015 RRP $19.99
